He is Risen, Alleluia!

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish,

He is Risen, Alleluia! Easter is celebrated for fifty glorious days beginning today culminating on the Solemnity of Pentecost. This is the “mother of all feasts” because we remember that great love of the Father for us, whose Son, Jesus Christ, by dying destroyed death and by rising restored all of us to life. This is the feast of the Passover of the Lord, the new day; the new creation, the new life, the eighth day. Easter reminds us that we have been reconciled with God the Father.

These days of Easter also remind us of the beginnings of the Church. It challenges us to continue what Jesus taught His disciples and to live by His example. It teaches us to take courage that despite the challenges we face in our world especially the challenges of this past year, the Risen Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is present and active in our lives and our world.

As we celebrate Easter, I’d like to thank the many people who have shared their time, talent, and treasure. Thank you to all those in our Liturgical Ministries, our Music Ministry, those who decorated our beautiful church, to all who sacrificed so generously behind the scenes to make our Holy week as prayerful and inviting as it has been.

I also extend a warm welcome to those who are visitors to our Parish this Easter. We are happy you chose to celebrate Easter with us. We extend an invitation to you to become a regular part of our Parish community. This Sunday bulletin lists our Mass times and contact information. Please call us, if we can help. Welcome, again, and a Happy and Blessed Easter to all of you!

Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Jay
