Happy 100th Anniversary St. Thomas the Apostle Parish!

10-24-2021Pastor's LetterFr. Jerome A. Johnson

My brothers and sisters, as we celebrate this milestone in our parish’s life and history, we do so on the firm foundation given us by the former pastors, priests, religious, benefactors and parishioners of St. Thomas who answered the call given them by God to serve His people here in Old Bridge. We give thanks for all of them who made it possible for us to face the future with hope and confidence as we now strive to do what they did ... as we now join together as one to carry out the Church’s mission leading people into a real relationship with Jesus Christ.

We especially give thanks to almighty God who has sustained and guided our parish from the beginning and we ask for His continued favor and graces as we enter our second century in service to His people.

I am very grateful to all who worked so hard to make the Mass and Gala wonderful celebrations to our parish! In a special way I would like to thank Justin Connors our Director of Music and Liturgy for coordinating the Mass and providing, along with the Choir and musicians, the magnificent music for the Anniversary Mass! As always, it was such a grace and blessing to welcome Bishop Checchio who celebrated and preached at the Mass. We thank him for being here and celebrating with us. I would also like to thank in a special way Jen and Joe Pasqua and the Gala Committee for organizing the wonderful Gala and Dinner! The food was delicious and everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves. God bless all of you, the wonderful pa- rishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, as we enter the second century of service to God’s people here in Old Bridge. Happy 100th Anniversary to all!
